I use JAWS screen reader software - how do I get it to work with NexTalk products?
NexTalk products have been successfully tested with all recent versions of JAWS for Windows, including versions 8, 9 and 10. In order for JAWS to work properly with NexTalk products, please do the following steps in the order they are presented:
Initial Setup:
Using JAWS:
JAWS uses the Text Conversation windows's "Call History" pane to read text conversations as they occur. To view this pane, either press Control-L or select "Call History" from the "View" menu at the top of the Conversation window.
Initial Setup:
- Install JAWS before you install the NexTalk software. If NexTalk is already installed, please uninstall NexTalk, then install or reinstall JAWS, then reinstall NexTalk
- Start JAWS
- Start your NexTalk software and log into your NexTalk account
- In NexTalk, click "Preferences", then select "Settings..." Click the "Blind" tab and check the "Screen Reader or Braille Device Used" option. Click the "OK" button.
