True Functional Equivalence in the Enterprise for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Individuals
With NexTalk® Enterprise, any call of any type (voice, text, video, even fax) can be made or received by anyone at any location. No onsite hardware is required – all that’s needed is an Internet connection.
NexTalk® Enterprise can stand-alone or “bolt on” to any existing PBX-based office phone system, allowing any PC to function as a videophone or text telephone. The application can run invisibly in the system tray; a screen pop-up can announce incoming calls or users can call up the application to initiate calls. This means deaf, hard-of-hearing and speech-impaired individuals can receive calls that come into the front desk (in the format of their choice) – just like hearing individuals. And since more than half of all calls into organizations end up in messaging systems, NexTalk makes it possible to receive and retrieve messages from callers in a form that’s easy to access.
With video communication capabilities, NexTalk® Enterprise also allows deaf users of American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate efficiently with other ASL users directly, or with hearing individuals through ASL interpreters by video relay. Similarly, text communications enable hearing and speech-impaired users to communicate with anyone directly or through text relay services.
